Adobe Illustrator Tips & Tricks 2023

Okay I clicked when I should have clacked and everything went haywire. It doesn’t happen very often and I can fix it. But here is the problem, I can’t remember how I fixed it last time. So I have to research the question again. I have to find the answer again.

Well, I have a better idea. I am going to create this blog post instead. It is going to be an ongoing post project. This way I will not have to research the questions each and every time the problem comes up.

And the best part, you will benefit as well.

Adobe Illustrator Workspace - User Interface is White

This is annoying. I like working in Adobe Illustrator with a gray User Interface. But sometimes I open a file and the User Interface is White.

Sometimes this happens because it is the way the file is uploaded. But there are also times when I clicked on something and didn’t realize it. Either way, it needs to be fixed.

I will usually start by checking the User Interface itself. You can find the User Interface by going to the top tool bar.

Edit  – Preferences – User Interface

This will open a separate dialog box. This is where you find all the setting for customizing your User Interface in your Illustrator Workspace.

See Pic Below for Clarification.

Edit Preferences UserInterface

Editing the preferences in the User Interface does not always solve the problem. When this happens, you need to check to see if there is a White Overprinting Issue.

This is a very easy fix. It just has a fancy name and sounds intimidating.

Go to the top tool bar and select View. Now look for the word “Overprint Preview”.

When there is a check beside the Overprint Preview, you will see the White Background. When this is unchecked, then you will be able to see the User Interface that you selected in your Preferences under User Interface.

See Pic Below for Clarification.
